MAYOR
Jim Brown
Occupation: Architect. Brown is currently working on two homes under construction on the Key. 

Hometown: Huntsville, Ala.

Hobbies: Sailing, fishing, hunting and golf

Passion: Traveling the world. Brown has visited more than 45 countries.

Interesting fact: Brown has designed homes, shopping plazas, commercial buildings, restaurants and hotels all over the country. He also designed a military base in Saudi Arabia and homes in Japan. Brown still designs homes on the Key for friends and neighbors.

VICE MAYOR
Jack Duncan
Former occupation: Executive with Zeneca Pharmaceuticals

Hometown: Cleveland 

Family: Wife, Debbie; a daughter; two sons; one grandchild (another grandchild on the way)

Hobbies: Baseball enthusiast, kayaking and running four to five miles a day on the treadmill

Interesting fact: Duncan and his baseball buddies have made spring training baseball an annual rite of passage each year for more than three decades. Duncan has been visiting ballparks all over Florida since 1980.

Duncan has also seen a ballgame in most major league ballparks nationwide. He says Wrigley Field, in Chicago, is his favorite for its combination of charm, history and character.

Terry Gans
Former occupation: Grocery store chain executive for Giant Food

Hometown: Washington, D.C.

Family: Wife, Diane; two sons; and three grandsons

Hobbies: Music, reading, movies and golf

Interesting fact: Gans wrote his master’s thesis on Bob Dylan. The thesis was published in 1982. Gans was paid for 200 copies.

Lynn Larson
Former Occupation: Director of the Florida Department of Insurance 

Hometown: Picayune, Miss. 

Family: husband, Jim; five children; and nine grandchildren 

Hobbies: Larson loves to sew and makes special quilts for her grandchildren and friends. 

Passion: Government transparency and making sure taxpayers get value from their dollars. 

Irwin Pastor
Former occupation: Chief executive officer of PepsiCo Bottling and Distribution Co.

Hometown: Buffalo, N.Y.

Family: Wife, Sylvia; a son; two daughters; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren

Hobbies: Fishing in the Gulf behind L’Ambiance and ice hockey (played in college)

Interesting fact: Pastor’s family once owned the Buffalo Bisons of the American Hockey League, which is now the National Hockey League’s Buffalo Sabres team.

Phill Younger 
Former occupation: Tech support and line maintenance for Delta Airlines

Hometown: Atlanta

Family: Wife, Fanny; two daughters; one granddaughter

Hobbies: Younger reads at least two fiction books a week. Traveling and tennis also make the list of his favorite hobbies. 

Interesting fact: Younger, who grew up attending segregated schools in Atlanta, helped quell a race riot during his one-year military tour. After that, he was promoted to acting commander for “treating everyone the same.”

Pat Zunz
Former occupation: Publishing house editor and landscape designer; was also on the Zoning Board of Adjustment for eight years in South Orange, N.J.

Family: Husband, Ed, a Zoning Board of Adjustment member

Hometown: New York City

Passion: Landscaping

Interesting fact: Zunz, who considers herself a private person, said becoming a town commissioner was never something she thought she would end up doing.
