The former Longbeach Chevron property is under contract after more than seven years of vacancy.

Planning, Zoning and Building Director Alaina Ray notified Town Manager Dave Bullock that Keller Williams plans close on the building at 6990 Gulf of Mexico Drive and redevelop the existing building into a real estate office that could have 20 or more agents.

According to Senior Town Planner Steve Schield, a real estate office is an allowable use for the property’s C3 zoning.

The property has been vacant since 2007, when Longbeach Chevron owner Robert Self closed the business after 17 years. Self now works at Grooms Motors, on Holmes Beach.
