Car-nage

  • 6:54 p.m. Nov. 20. 1000 block of Orange Ave. Dispute. A man complained that while he was leaving work, a homeless man in the parking lot became agitated after dropping some of his belongings, then charged toward him as he got into his car. He then continued to slam his fists onto his car as he drove away and chased after him. The officer was unable to locate the man.

    • 5 p.m. Nov. 20. 600 block of Orange Ave. Graffiti. A woman reported graffiti on a concrete half wall, which she painted over that day. The graffiti was several large letters painted in blue and purple along with the phrase, "Cuz them grades ain't got me paid."

    The Usual Suspects

    • 6:20 a.m. Nov. 21. Main Street and Links Ave. A man driving a garbage truck reported that a man threw a rock at the passenger side of his truck while he was stopped at a red light. The man then crossed the street and threw another rock at the driver's side of the truck, breaking the window, then fled. Around the same time, police responded to a robbery at a nearby bank. Police took a man into custody, and the garbage truck driver identified the suspect as the same man who threw rocks at his truck.

    • 10:37 p.m. Nov. 30. 1000 block of 22nd St. Dispute. A man reported that another man knocked on his door and asked for beer money. The man had blood on his shirt and appeared to have a knife in his hand. The complainant told the man he wouldn't give him any money and that he shouldn't knock on his door so late. The man acknowledged and then left. Officers were unable to find the man in the area.

    American Pie

    • 7 p.m. Nov. 30. 1500 block of Conrad Ave. Criminal mischief. A woman called to report that she heard a loud bang from her driveway, and when she went outside, her rear car windshield had been shattered by a crowbar, which was lying nearby. She had been out shopping with her son, who was no longer present. She didn't call police, because she was afraid of how he might react if he returned and saw them. Some time later, she heard her front door open, but she didn't leave her bedroom for two more hours. When she did, he was standing in the kitchen eating pie in the nude. When police arrived, she declined to press charges.

    Staring Contest

    • 12:16 p.m. Dec. 1. 3200 block of Clark Drive. Suspicious person. A woman called to report that a man was on her property, staring at her through her front window. She said this was not the first time this had happened, and that he also takes avocados from her tree, claiming they belong to him. The officer was unable to locate the man in the area.
