Longboat Key camera catches burglary suspect

The victim of a Lido Key Beach vehicle burglary cracked his car windows for ventilation Aug. 1— leaving just enough room for a criminal to strike.

Sarasota Police have released photographs captured by a Longboat Key surveillance camera of the man suspected of stealing $240 cash and a debit cardy shortly after the incident. The suspect, a stocky man shown wearing a graphic t-shirt and hat, attempted to use the stolen debit card twice at the B.P. gas station on Gulf of Mexico Drive.
