The House Ethics Committee has unanimously dismissed allegations about Longboat Key Republican Congressman Vern Buchanan's personal financial disclosure statements.

According to a report, the House Ethics Committee found no evidence that errors were knowing or willful and determined that errors in the report were not substantively different from the errors corrected by amendment as per the requirement of the committee each year.

In a press release, Buchanan said he was pleased with the committee’s action but not surprised, noting that many Congressmen and Senators routinely amend their reports due to inadvertent omissions.
