Representatives of the Lakewood Ranch Inter-District Authority board today took a preliminary look at changes to spending and purchasing limits previously established for certain IDA employees and officers.

IDA staff is looking to update titles and applicable spending/purchasing limits and to include a provision for emergency expenditures under federal, state and local and/or localized declared emergencies.

The new caps would authorize Executive Director Eva Rey to make expenditures and enter into contracts on behalf of the IDA for up to $25,000, provided the expenditure is authorized and within a pre-approved budget, among other conditions, for example.

New amounts have also been set for the chief financial officer, director of operations and maintenance, and other personnel.

"The internal processes, in terms of checks and balances, ... are in place," Finance Director Steve Zielinski said.

Board members are slated to vote on the item at their meeting Thursday.
