+ Nominations wanted for Kiwanis Citizen of the Year
The Kiwanis Club of Longboat Key is seeking nominations for its 2010 Longboat Key Citizen of the Year award.
The club will present the annual award at a reception scheduled for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at the Longboat Key Center for the Arts. Also honored at the event will be the Longboat Key Police Officer of the Year and the Longboat Key Fire-Rescue Officer of the Year.
The Kiwanis Club annually recognizes a Longboat Key citizen who has made an outstanding contribution toward the betterment of the community and demonstrated unselfish leadership in his or her efforts. Last year’s winner was former Longboat Key Mayor Ron Johnson.
The award ceremony is open to the public. Admission will be $35 per person, which includes hors d’oeuvres and two drinks and live music. Reservations required.
