Lakewood Ranch gets 'tagged'

Representatives of Microsoft Corp. and Lakewood Ranch on Oct. 11 announced details of a new regional partnership that will make Lakewood Ranch the first community in the nation to be “Tagged!”

The Microsoft Tag program is a new 2D barcoding technology that allows businesses to bridge their marketing efforts with the digital world. After downloading the application to their iPhone or Droid, customers can scan a business’s barcode with their phone and be automatically directed to the company’s website or other pertinent information.
