A Tampa woman allegedly fleeing a crime scene drove her car into a home on 32nd Street killing 62-year-old Eleanor Ball after 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

Sarasota Police attempted to question Jameikah Weeks, 24, after responding to a report that she had broken into her ex-boyfriend's home on the 1700 block of 29th Street. Weeks sped away and officers on foot saw her vehicle crash into the home at 1728 32nd Street.

Emergency personnel pronounced Ball dead at the scene and transported Weeks to Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

Authorities have charged Weeks with vehicular homicide, burglary, battery, obstruction and petit theft, and she will be booked into Sarasota County Jail today, according to a news release.
