The Rev. Bill Friederich was installed March 5 as the minister of Longboat Island Chapel.
He has served as interim minister since the Rev. Vincent Carroll retired July 1.
Friederich was elected by the congregation in January. Before that, he served as the minister of music for the church. Music and the arts are important to him, and he plans to incorporate them more into the worship services.
