What do a sun, flamingo, lion and manatee all have in common? They represent health in the eyes of Sarasota middle school students.

In a search for a new health mascot, Vivida Health Plan’s held a student art contest that received 120 entries from students in the Southwest Florida area.

The work from Sarasota students took the top four prizes. Nela Pawluczuk won the overall grand prize for her sun, Kaylie Nicely won first prize for her flamingo, Brooke Flenard won second prize for her lion, and Stryker Gruhl won third prize for his manatee.
