The Manatee County School District announced Monday, April 14, that it hired Rebecca Roberts as its new finance director.

Roberts replaces Tommy Crosby, who resigned in January to become the director of Alachua County’s Office of Management and Budget.

Roberts most recently was the City of Baltimore’s chief accountant.

“We are grateful to have someone with Rebecca’s knowledge and experience joining our leadership team,” said Rick Mills, superintendent of the Manatee County School District. “She is a great addition and will strengthen our control of the district’s finances.”

Roberts will report to Michael Boyer, the district’s chief financial officer.
