The Play's the Thing
Sarasota Christian School fifth-graders Luke Downes and Joshua Fitzgerald were two of 33 winners of the Florida Studio Theatre Young Playwrights Festival. Luke’s play was titled “One Stuck Rock,” and Joshua’s play was called “Flash in Time.” In the following weeks, professional actors will perform the winning playwrights’ plays in front of more than 12,000 students. The playwrights will also be honored at a ceremony May 10.

V for Victory
Pine View School for the Gifted and Riverview High School were neck-and-neck at the Education Foundation’s Academic Olympics March 29. In the end, the Pine View Pythons came out on top with a final score of 194-156, taking home the “Culture Vulture.” The win came after the Pythons scored big in the final team questions category.
