Wanted: altruistic souls with a soft spot for tiny, fuzz-covered birds.

Baby bird season has returned and the staff of Save Our Seabirds is hunting for some volunteers willing to devote four hours a week to nurturing these little ones.

“We have baby songbirds, sea birds, short birds and birds of prey,” said volunteer coordinator Chelsea Powell. “These hungry little ones need to every 20 minutes!”

Feeding these adorable babies and cleaning their homes make up volunteers’ duties. To prepare volunteers for the job, S.O.S. is hosting a training session from 11 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 13 at 1708 Ken Thompson Parkway. Interested? Call 388-3010 to reserve your spot and learn more about the program.
