Sarasota Police Department officers that rushed to the scene of a possible drowning in a residential pool Tuesday were able to revive the infant, according to Sarasota Police Department Captain Paul Sutton.

The incident occurred in the Arlington Park neighborhood around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. The infant’s name has not been released.

Officers Kurt Denver and Carmen Woods, which were already in the area on patrol, rushed to the scene and got there as the child’s father was pulling the infant out of the pool.

Sutton said the officers immediately began performing CPR on the infant, which threw up pool water all over the officers and began breathing. The family was then driven to Sarasota Memorial Hospital where the infant was monitored and expected to make a full recovery.
