Thursday, Sept. 1
YPG After Hours 
Runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Aloft Sarasota, 1401 Ringling Blvd. 
With an average of 80-100 young professionals gathering on the first Thursday of each month, you're guaranteed to make new friends, secure new clients and learn more about what Sarasota has to offer. Medieval Fair Auditions 
Starts at 9 a.m. at Sarasota Fairgrounds, 3000 Ringling Blvd. All ages are welcome to audition for the Sarasota Medieval Fair's general cast and other categories of players. Participation is free. Visit sarasotamedievalfair.com.

Friday, Sept.2 to Sunday, Sept.4
70th annual Labor Day Regatta
at Sarasota Sailing Squadron, 1717 Ken Thompson Parkway, City Island. Sailing is the name of the game when the Sarasota Sailing Squadron puts on its 70th Annual Labor Day Regatta, its biggest event of the year. The event is attended by sailors from ages 8 to 80, both from the U.S. and Canada and it draws about 1,000 visitors each year. It's free viewing for spectators. On City Island at 1717 Ken Thompson Parkway. Call 941-388-2355.

Friday, Aug. 26 
Friday Fest: Rebelheart
Bringing a contemporary blend of country music is Sarasota's Rebelheart. Admission is free. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Visit VanWezel.org. 

Thursday, Sept. 1 
Sisterhood For Good Comedy Fundraiser 
Runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at McCurdy's Comedy Theatre and Humor Institute, 1923 Ringling Blvd. Featuring Carmen Ciricillo. Proceeds will go toward grants from Sisterhood For Good to local nonprofits and charitable causes. Tickets are $60 and include two drink vouchers. Call 925-3869. 

Wednesday, Sept. 7 
Young Guns of Country 
Starts at 6 p.m. at Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, 777 Tamiami Trail. Goodwill Manasota and 92.1 CTQ partner to bring young acts in country music to the Van Wezel. Tickets are free but need to be picked up at a participating location. Visit experiencegoodwill.org.
