Longboat Key resident Ruth Kreindler and her family recently endowed a professorial chair at Harvard Law School.

The chair is named in honor of Kreindler’s late husband, Lee S. Kreindler. Lee Kreindler graduated from Harvard Law School in 1949 and went on to found the law firm, Kreindler & Kreindler, with his father, Harry.

“We are deeply grateful for this extraordinarily generous gift,” said Associate Dean and Dean for Development and Alumni Relations Steven Oliveira, in a prepared statement. “Lee Kreindler was a path-breaking attorney, and HLS has a long history of leadership in the field of tort law — and our future is even brighter now thanks to the Kreindler family.”
