Tom Aposporos brings a background in both politics and business to his role as president of the Longboat Key, Lido Key, St. Armands Key Chamber of Commerce.

Aposporos was the youngest mayor in the history of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and went on to serve four terms, and also served two terms on the Anna Maria Island Charter Review Commission. He also began his real-estate career in 1972, served for six years as the director of the publicly traded Progressive Bank Inc. Today, in addition to his role as chamber president, he works as a broker associate at J Wood Realty. As Chamber president, he was a key figure in the creation of the Longboat Key Triathlon and the Longboat Key Challenge.

Aposporos is a professional actor and founder of the Theatre Odyssey writers’ and actors’ company. He has also appeared in television commercials, including a series of advertisements for Dattoli Cancer Center.
