Popcorn Key
One Popcorn: Flop
Two Popcorns: Wait till it’s on video
Three Popcorns: Go see it
Four Popcorns: Standing ovation

‘Prometheus’
Three Popcorns
Genre: Sci-fi thriller
Cast: Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron
Director: Ridley Scott
Rating: R
Comment: Very intense futuristic thriller that stretches “suspension of disbelief.” 3-D helps, and the story is compelling with really scary aliens. Worth a look. Sequel coming.

‘For Greater Glory’
Three Popcorns
Genre: Adventure based on a true story
Cast: Andy Garcia, Oscar Issac, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Santiago Cabrera, Ruben Blades,
Director: Dean Wright
Rating: R
Comment: Based on the Mexican revolution in the ”20s fighting against religious persecution. Andy Garcia is a terrific hero. A lot of heart and passion. Interesting coincidence of the timing of release given today’s religious freedom “conversations.”

‘Madagascar 3’
Three Popcorns
Genre: Animated comedy
Cast: Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith, Sacha Baron Cohen
Director: Eric Darnell, Conrad Vernon, Tom McGrath
Rating: PG
Comment: Much better than “Madagascar 2.” Lots of fun for the whole family.
