As crews prepare to finalize their inspections, the Osprey Avenue Bridge over the Hudson Bayou will close again on Thursday and Friday.

The inspections were part of the Lift Station 87 project, designed to gather more information about the structure of the bridge before construction begins on the nearby wastewater facility. The bridge was first closed for two days on Jan. 21 and 22, and traffic was reduced to one lane as work continued.

This week’s closure is intended to allow for the removal of equipment and workers from the area. The project is concluding 10 days earlier than expected, the city announced in a release.

Detour signs will reroute northbound and southbound traffic around the bridge on Thursday and Friday.
