They could pass for modern art. But a series of stealthy-looking black poles around town portend something more useful.
According to city spokesman Jason Bartolone, the poles, overseen by Verizon, are 5G cell-service towers being installed in the city.
“[Verizon] applied for permits for a first batch of approximately 30 of these throughout the city,” Bartolone said.
