A formal ribbon-cutting ceremony Oct. 29 marked the official presentation of two large seahorse sculptures at the entrance to the Seahorse Conservation Laboratory at Mote Marine. It was also the 50th anniversary celebration of the Ruden McClosky law firm, a major sponsor of the exhibit.

The seahorse sculptures had originally been on display at the Lido Casino. When the casino was razed in 1969, the sculptures were removed. John Dent, of Ruden McClosky, and Arthur Armitage, Mote board chairman, took part in the ribbon cutting. An informal tour of the Seahorse Conservation Laboratory followed.
