It might be the end of July, but there is still plenty of time to complete that summer reading list.

The Longboat Library is continuously adding new books to its collection throughout the summer, including books from the New York Times Best Sellers list.

The library is offering these best sellers:

  •  “The Fix,” by David Baldacci
  •  “Fast and Loose,” by Stuart Woods
  •  “The Underground Railroad,” by Colson Whitehead
  •  “One Perfect Lie,” by Lisa Scottoline
  •  “Hillbilly Elegy,” by J.D. Vance
  • “The Stars are Fire,” by Anita Shreve

In addition, Oceanview Publishing, owned by Longboat residents Pat and Bob Gussin, has donated several of its recent releases. A list of new books can be found on the library’s website, longboatlibrary.org.

The library has shortened hours during the summer — 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Saturday. While checking out books is limited to library members, the Wonderful Wednesday Book Sales are open the public. Those sales run from 9 a.m. to noon and feature books available for half-price. Library membership costs $25 per year. Call 383-2011 for more information.
