Who will be Longboat Key’s next mayor?

The Longboat Key Town Commission will decide at its statutory meeting at 7 p.m. tonight at Longboat Key Town Hall.

Mayor Jim Brown, who has served on the commission for the past six years, including four years as mayor, will step down from the District 4 seat due to term limits.

His successor for the District 4 seat, Jack Daly, along with At-Large Commissioner Phill Younger, who won re-election last week, and Vice Mayor Jack Duncan, who ran unopposed for his District 2 seat, will take their oaths of office.

After commissioners are sworn in, the commission will select the town’s mayor and vice mayor.
