1. Holbrook was in the Navy and served during Vietnam

2. Holbrook enjoys reading biographies and history books.

3. Holbrook has traveled to Saudi Arabia five times and United Arab Emirates once with his wife, Karen, who does a lot of consulting in the Middle East. The couple loves taking cruises and has a Brazilian cruise planned for next Christmas.

4. Holbrook was a board member at Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium for a little over three years.

5. During his career he was studying the Sulu Sea and his team had to have a Phillipine gunboat and contingent of marines onboard because of pirates.
