Athletic shoes may be the one shoe that everyone has a pair of, but they are also one of the hardest shoes to buy. From all of the colors and styles and cushioning, it’s hard to know where to start. One thing is for sure — an athletic shoe needs to serve its purpose for your workout and must look good to wear around after you’re done. Lucky for Sarasota, there are a few places that carry a large selection of top brands and styles to suite anyone’s needs. We stopped in some stores to see what’s popular now in the world of athletic shoes.

Brooks Adrenaline 15 (men’s), $130, at Fit2Run
Adidas Ultra Boost (men’s), $180, at Fleet Feet Sarasota. This shoe’s upper is completely knitted like a sock, with a four-way stretch rubber sole for softer shock absorption.
New Balance (boy’s) Fresh Foam Zante, $69.95, at New Balance Sarasota
New Balance (girl’s) 890, $54.95, at New Balance Sarasota
Pearl Izumi “The N3,” $130, at Fleet Feet Sarasota. The upper is 100% seamless with the design 3D printed on to the fabric.
ON Cloud (women’s), $120, at Fleet Feet Sarasota. This shoe has a carbon fiber board that runs internally through the shoe.
Asics Gel Nimbus, $150, at Fit2Run
