Oct. 16
Reignited fire

1:17 p.m. — Jewfish Key. Brush Fire. Police responded to the Broadway dock about a fire on Jewfish Key. The fire was a rekindled area from a brush fire two days earlier.

Open-door policy
11:09 p.m. — 6800 block of GMD. Security Check. Police found the door to a salon unlocked. The owner said an employee probably forgot to lock the door.

Oct. 17
Tool time

4:12 p.m. — 6900 block of Bayside Drive. Noise. After a resident complained about noise, police made contact with a group of people using power tools on a small boat, but determined no violation occurred.

Phantom sounds
10:54 p.m. — 6100 block of GMD. A woman’s children heard loud noises coming from the ground floor of her home. She was worried someone might have tried to enter. Police found no signs of forced entry.

Oct. 21
Call in the Geek Squad

10:56 a.m. — 2300 block of Harbour Oaks Drive. Public Service. A man has a virus on his computer that has infected the machine so that he can’t access his Internet connection unless he pays a fee. The man wanted advice about how to deal with the company.

Water damage
3:10 p.m. — 600 block of Rountree Drive. Property Damage. A man returned home after five months and found his sailboat cover open to the elements and approximately 4 inches of water pooled in the cabin area. The damage appeared to be accidental.

Quiet time
5:48 p.m. — 500 block of Halyard Lane. Disturbance. Police discovered a large truck equipped with an installation pump making a loud noise. Police told the property owner that town ordinance prohibits construction noise between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m.

Open entry
9:53 p.m. — 700 block of GMD. Public Service. A woman locked herself out of her house. Police entered through a window that wasn’t locked and unlocked the door from the inside.
