Community Haven’s operations vice president tapped for CEO

Brad Jones has been with the organization for five years.

Community Haven selected its current vice president of operations, Brad Jones, to fill the role of president and CEO.

The organization’s board of directors made the selection Tuesday, May 10.

“Brad’s tireless work with make The Haven a model for the state in what can be accomplished for people with disabilities,” said Board Chairman Michael Scicluna in a press release. 

Jones has been at Community Haven for five years. He first moved from Chicago to become the residential coordinator. Since then, he’s been promoted to director of adult services and in July 2014 was named the vice president of operations. 

Community Haven, located on De Soto Road in Sarasota, is an organization that supports children, adults and families with disabilities. It provides housing and work experience for adults, transition programs for teenagers and occupational, physical and speech therapies. 

Jones’ work at the Haven including developing a 10-year strategy for growth at the 32-acre campus, building two new group homes and leading a campaign which brought in $1.1 million to construct a vocational training center, according to the release. The groundbreaking for the Haven Industries Adult Day Training Program’s new facilities will be held in July.
