The Longboat Key Town Commission will discuss a resolution authorizing a budget transfer of $30,000 for consulting services to continue evaluating options for underground utilities.

The commission previously approved $50,000 for a study that engineering firm Brannon & Gillespie LLC undertook, of which $7,459 remains.

The commission directed town staff at a Nov. 12 special meeting to evaluate other options and costs for undergrounding utilities throughout the entire island. The previous study focused on undergrounding only Gulf of Mexico Drive utilities.
