Three divers reported missing Sunday off of Longboat Key are safe and in good condition, according to a U.S. Coast Guard news release.

The Coast Guard launched a rescue effort after a boat captain reported that the divers were using his anchor buoy as a reference point and that they went missing after the buoy apparently drifted.

Two divers were found Sunday afternoon before a Coast Guard helicopter crew spotted the third diver. The crew relocated the diver’s location to a boat crew, which then rescued the diver.

All three divers reported that they were in “great condition” according to the news release, and declined medical evaluation.
