Chillounge celebrates new location

For the last six years, the popular outdoor Chillounge Night has been held in downtown Sarasota as a block-party style event. This year marks the first time the event will be held in its new location, which means it will now be a full-scale outdoor lounge party on par with its previously larger St. Pete and Tampa counterparts.

Taking place from 7 p.m. to midnight Saturday, March 8, in the Westfield Southgate Mall parking lot, the 7th annual BMW of Sarasota Chillounge Night will include a Brazilian samba parade, fireworks, a fashion show, daybed parade, live music with a dance floor, DJs, a cash bar and food. This year's event will also benefit Girls, Inc.

"It's going to be a real new experience," says Rainer Scheer, the event's founder. "It's going to be bigger and blown up, and Sarasota will finally have the full Chillounge experience."

Advance tickets are $25, and VIP tickets are also available.
