Democrats gather for first luncheon on the season

The mid-term election results failed to dampen the spirits of the Longboat Key Club Democrat Club as 76 members gathered for the first luncheon meeting of the season Nov. 9, at The Chart House. Guest speaker Dr. Susan MacManus, a political science professor at the University of South Florida, urged the Democrats not to despair. 'Two years is a lifetime in politics,' MacManus said. 'The Republicans have two years to show what they can do, and if they don't, look out.'
