Dozens of East County residents gathered at the home of Summerfield residents Mike and Patt Staley April 16 for an evening of camel races, food and drinks during the Military Officers Association of Sarasota's charity fundraiser. Guests placed bets on their specific military branch's camel, and after five races the winners were rewarded. Proceeds from the event benefit Support Our Troops and the organization's local high school scholarship fund.
