Okay, so she's another year older. But Longboaters know that having Longboat Observer Senior Editor Dora Walters on the scene never gets old.
On Jan. 4, Walters celebrated her birthday with cake at the office and, ever the reporter, then headed off to the Longboat Key Town Commission meeting to snap photos. When she got up to take a crowd shot, the group surprised her by singing 'Happy Birthday.'
One person in attendance asked her if she was turning 39 again.
Her response: 38.
