Closing out a 2026 season featuring a wide range of musical genres, Los Rumberos performed at The Education Center's final Sunday Performing Arts Programs on March 15.
The quartet, accompanied by flamenco dancer Carolina Esparza, livened up the stage with its Latin fusion melodies. Among the crowd favorites was "Bésame Mucho," originally written in 1932 by Consuelo Velázquez.
While Esparza tapped out her tunes with a quick step, she was accompanied by band members Randy Bordon on the upright bass, Edsel on percussion (including congas and vocals), Sara Verse on vocals and David Muñoz on flamenco guitar.
Program Director Susan Goldfarb said attendees at this year's performances appreciated the variety.
"It was a very eclectic season, from opera to Broadway to the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe," she said. "We didn't leave out anything."
The center's spring term continues through April 24. See TBIEducationCenter.org for the full brochure.
