The Florida Department of Law Enforcement on Sunday posted a missing-child alert for a 14-year-old girl last seen on Gulf of Mexico Drive on Longboat Key.

In a social media posting, the FDLE reported that Jordan Tobe was last seen in the 4800 block, wearing a black sweatshirt and black shorts. She might have been riding a red bicycle and carrying a black backpack.

Longboat Key Police Department spokesperson Tina Adams said Tobey was last seen at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 10, inside her residence.

“Family members discovered her missing later that afternoon and immediately notified law enforcement,” Adams said. “Jordan has previously expressed an intent to leave the area and may be traveling toward Georgia. Due to her age and the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, authorities are concerned for her safety.”
