Looking to clear out unwanted waste that can't go in the regular trash? The town of Longboat Key is hosting a community cleanup day for residents.

Waste Management staff will be collecting household hazardous material (including automotive fluids, paint, pool chemicals and propane tanks) and electronic waste (including cell phones, computers and printers). They are also accepting a maximum of five boxes of documents for shredding per household. There will also be a drop-off area for bulk items.

The cleanup is open from 8 a.m. to noon March 7 at Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road. Proof of residency is required. Call 941-316-1988 with questions.
