Several victims found in fatal Sarasota shooting

Investigators are looking into the circumstances surrounding a violent incident in Sarasota on Tuesday that left multiple people dead in a home on Fallcrest Circle, near the intersection of Proctor and McIntosh roads, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

According to one of several updates from the Sheriff’s Office, the incident was an isolated one and no threat exists to the public.

The 12:30 p.m. incident, which was reported as a shots fired call,  left “no survivors,’’ the sheriff’s office said.

A weapon was recovered, but there was no immediate sense of who fired the shots and who the victims were. The sheriff’s office released no information on how many victims were found dead.
