There will be some new faces and names on the dais for Longboat Key volunteer boards.

Longboat Key Town Commission appointed two new members to the Planning and Zoning Board, Doreen Mitchell and Kevin Giordano. They will replace Eddie Abrams, who resigned from his position on the board due to personal reasons, and Nick Gladding, who resigned after he was elected unopposed to Town Commission. Mitchell’s term expires in May 2027 and Giordano’s term will expire in May 2029.

The Consolidated Retirement System Board of Trustees also had an opening following Frank Cona’s resignation. Filling that seat will be Mark Marcantano on a two-year term expiring in May 2028.

Ronald Ginsberg was appointed to the Sarasota-Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization Citizen Advisory Committee after Abrams resigned from that board as well.
