Sarasota County is hosting a community conversation centered around hurricane preparedness.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at Riverview High School.

“The event is designed to share lessons learned from previous hurricane seasons and help community members prepare for the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, which begins June 1,” a Sarasota County news release states.

A panel will include experts from the National Hurricane Center, Florida Division of Emergency Management and Sarasota County. Registration is required, which can be done at SCGov.net/BePrepared.
