Sarasota police arrest two on narcotics, weapon charges

Two narcotics arrests have been made by the Sarasota Police Department. 

On Jan. 11, SPD detectives and SWAT team members executed a narcotics search warrant at 2748 Gillespie Ave., where they arrested Johnnie Jenkins, 70, and Leslie Harper, 44, both of Sarasota.

Detectives recovered rock cocaine, marijuana and a .22-caliber revolver handgun from the residence. 

Jenkins was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, maintaining a place where substances are illegally kept and violation of probation.

Harper was arrested for possession of cocaine, possession of paraphernalia and violation of probation.
