Residents of Yardarm Lane in Country Club Shores celebrated the ability to get back into the groove of things with a block party on April 3.

The theme was "Getting Back to Groovy," wrote resident Joanne Forch, and residents of the street were invited to dress up in their grooviest gear and party with their neighbors. Neighbors Kristie and Keith Harrison were the organizers and brought in a food truck called The Groovy Grill. Yardarm neighbors dined on grilled cheese and burgers.

"It was so much fun to be vaccinated, have a party and feel normal again," Forch said.

From young kids to older adults, the street was filled with hippies wearing circular sunglasses, tie dye and more fringe than has been seen in decades. Forch wrote the next block party will be in fall with either the theme of Biker Chicks or Time to Rodeo.
