At the 2020 Temple Beth Israel’s BIW Fashion Show, striking your best pose in clothes that make you feel confident was the theme.

All the models were from Temple Beth Israel’s congregation, including the only male model, executive director Isaac Azerad. The popular fashion show is one of the BIW organization’s cornerstone events of the year, and all funds raised go to the Temple.

“Women love to see fashion; it’s just fun,” co-chair Sylvia Pastor said.

About 150 women (and a few men) attended the event on Jan. 15 at Michael’s On East, and strolled around sipping champagne and trying their luck on one of the many raffle prizes before sitting down to lunch. After lunch, the real show began. Seven women from the Temple showed off three outfits each — casual, daytime and evening looks. Evelyn and Arthur provided the fashions this year.

Evelyn and Arthur representative Aliki Gamble shared fun facts about the models and their outfits as they walked the runway and struck their poses.

“I feel like I have a whole new slew of girlfriends,” Gamble said.
