For Shabbat, friends and family were clearly the most important part of the dinner.

Dozens turned out for Temple Beth Israel’s Shabbat dinner on Friday, Aug. 6. After the evening’s Sabbath service, attendees enjoyed homemade food, an array of desserts, including a celebratory anniversary cake and the warmth of a dinner with friends.Â
The anniversary cake was to commemorate Temple President Murray Blueglass’ 50 years spent with wife Alice. The homemade food was courtesy of Nancy Cohen and Sylvia Pastor, who made sure everything was perfect before guests streamed in from the Temple to the large dining room.Â
Prior to lining up for the buffet, it was difficult to get everyone’s attention as they had already begun catching up with friends. It’s a tough choice between a homemade dinner and good camaraderie.Â
