Susan Meyers, president of the Gilbert W. McNeal Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization, did a nice job summing up the annual Sweetheart Dance.

Meyers said the Feb. 1 event at the school was a chance for the girls to dress up and to be treated like princesses.

About 400 people attended the event. The girls’ sweethearts included their dads, grandfathers, uncles or other important male figure in their lives.
