Celebrities and happy times aren't hard to find when looking back at the history of Dr. Murray "Murf" Klauber's Colony Beach & Tennis Resort. Here are some photos from those days.
Dr. Murray “Murf” Klauber got his whole family into the act when publishing the Colony Beach & Tennis Resort’s first print ad, in a 1972 issue of Tennis.
Nick Bollettieri came to the Colony in 1977 to create a tennis academy, ultimately training some of the top junior players into mainstays of the professional game. Sports Illustrated took notice in 1980 with a feature story.
Sports journalist Bud Collins was a frequent guest at the Colony and promoted tennis through his broadcast and print-reporting career.
