After two actors from The Players finished singing their number from the musical hit “Funny Girl,” John Fain and Angela Massaro-Fain cheered both the performance and the knowledge a new $30 million theater complex is coming to Lakewood Ranch.
The Lakewood Ranch couple was in attendance March 22 at Gold Coast Eagle Distributing for a special preview of The Players’ production of “Funny Girl,” which runs at its Sarasota theater through April 15.
The special event was another effort of The Players Centre for Performing Arts, which is building its complex at the future Waterside Place, to introduce itself to the community.
“Lakewood Ranch should be a hub of entertainment,” John Fain said. “East County deserves to have a hub like this.”
