For the Lakewood Ranch Elks Lodge No. 2855, the annual golf tournament always is a special occasion meant to raise money for its causes, such as the Elks Feeding Empty Little Tummies project and its veterans committee.

Joe Kloss of Parrish wanted to support those causes in the 2017 Elks Golf Tournament at the Tara Golf & Country Club, but he also made the Sept. 30 tournament special for himself as well.

Kloss recorded his first hole-in-one by sinking a pitching wedge from 130 yards on No. 13.

Kloss was one of 90 golfers who supported the cause.
