East County High 5 moments: 03.29.17

1 — Braden River baseball junior James Boldin hit a walk-off, two-run double in the Pirates' nine-inning, 2-1 win over George Jenkins on March 22.

2 — Steve Sowards (132) won the championship flight of Palm Aire Country Club's Men's Club Championship. The championship was played over two days on March 25-26. Sowards shot a 67 on the first day at the Lakes Course and a 65 on the other at the Champions Course. 

3 —Lakewood Ranch senior defensive back Chris Hadley announced his commitment to John Carroll University for football on March 20. 

4 —Lakewood Ranch senior guard Devin Twenty scored 22 points to lead Manatee County in its 120-118 loss to Sarasota County in the 2017 Sarasota-Manatee Boys All-Star Game on March 25.  

5 —Out-of-Door Academy eighth-grader Saraiah Walkes won the 200 (25.19) and 400 (58.00) meter races at the ODA Thunder Invitational on March 24, setting personal records in both events.
