Thousands of runners hit the pavement the morning of March 19 for the annual First Watch Sarasota Half Marathon.

Runners took their marks at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall before crossing the Ringling Bridge and winding their way around St. Armands. After crossing the half way point near the Van Wezel, runners ran through Indian Shores and back to the performing arts hall.

After completing the 13.1 mile course, participants were greeted by breakfast in more sense than one.

Finishers were greeted by race staff dressed as breakfast food before they were awarded for their athletic efforts with a feast of pancakes and beer.
